thank you!

Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone who made it out last night to support their local artists and crafters at Urban Lights! It was a huge success.  Hope everyone got their shopping done... but if you didn't or regret not picking anything up Store will be open again before the holidays on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 530pm-730pm.

it really does look like christmas!

This morning was one of the first mornings of winter I awoke to snow on the ground.  Needless to say, it did not make my drive into work this morning pleasant but it is exciting to see the snow especially for Urban Lights (hopefully it puts people in the mood to Christmas shop!).  And it put me in the mood to make THE ULTIMATE CHRISTMAS PLAYLIST!

1. Maybe this Christmas- Ron Sexsmith.
I am not ashamed  to say I love teen dramas and one of my all time favorites was The O.C.  This song was on Music from The O.C. Soundtrack: Merry Christmamukkah.

2.  Come On! Let's Boogey to the Elf Dance- Sufjan Stevens.
Who doesn't love a little Sufjan!? I actually love a lot of Sufjan.  My favorite part of this song is the lyric, "your sister's bangs she cut them herself."  Ahh, memories of my own bang fail.  This song is on Ding! Dong! part of Sufjan Stevens presents songs for Christmas Vol III a Singalong.

3. Someday at Christmas- Jack Johnson
It takes me to a happy place where there is world peace and ambient weather for flip-flops.  This Warm December- A Brush Fire Holiday Vol. 1.

4. What's this?- Danny Elfman
I chose this one because "This is Halloween" is technically a Halloween song but I still listen to it this time of year.  Nightmare Before Christmas Special Edition Soundtrack.

5. Christmas is going to the Dogs- Eels
This is exactly what I think my dog thinks about on Christmas. Music from The O.C. Soundtrack: Merry Christmamukkah.

6. Did I Make you Cry on Christmas? (Well, you Deserved it!)- Sufjan Stevens
It's not Christmas without crying, right? It's not as depressing as it sounds. Joy part of Sufjan Stevens presents Songs for Christmas Vol. IV a Singalong.

7. Blue Christmass- She & Him
I love Zooey!  A Very She&Him Christmas.

8.  Baby, It's Cold Outside- Leon Redbone & Zooey Deschanel.
One of the best holiday movies! And oh yeah, I really love Zooey!

This will be a good start to get us in the Christmas and shopping mood for Urban Lights tonight! Hope to see you all there.

holly jolly

Hello Friends!  Mr. Moustachio was so excited to tell you all about Holly Jolly (although he had a hard time holding the card still for all to read)! Holly Jolly is the ultimate holiday shopping experience in downtown Grand Rapids that will take place December 2nd and 3rd. Several wonderful shops will open up those two days with the goal of helping you complete your holiday shopping. And of course, three.bunnies will be making an appearance at Store presented by Avenue for the Arts (http://avenueforthearts.com/store/) to sell tons of goodies sure to make anyone on your shopping lists happy!

sneak peek

One of my favorite Christmas traditions when I was younger was to sneak out of my room with my sister in the wee hours of Christmas and rummage through all the goodies Santa left.  We wouldn't open anything early but we would do our best by feeling and shaking each gift to guess what he left us. Over the years, we got pretty good at it too. Afterwards, we would be too excited to sleep and spend the rest of the night playing board games until we were allowed to wake our parents up.

In the spirit of all this sneaking around I would like to give you a sneak peak of the three.bunnies debut merchandise:

There is so much more too! Can't wait to see everyone for Urban Lights.

bright and early

There is a lot that I love about screen printing, but I'd have to say my favorite thing is how quickly I can churn things out.  500 three.bunnies tags before 10 o'clock?  Yes, I think so.  Not to mention clean-up is a breeze.
Next weekend, Erica and I will be assembling everything as well as working out our table design for Urban Lights.  I am very excited to see this all come to fruition!  Time to go put together some tags.

getting off the ground

As avid crafters and bunny lovers, Erica and I have decided to combine our love of things made by hand and long-eared rodents into "three.bunnies", a brand of handmade goods crafted by us.  We are launching this lovely little blog in honor of this new and exciting idea, and although we are not certain exactly how this little business venture will manifest we are excited.  The name describes the (current) total of the fuzzy friends we love and care for: Daisy, Holly, and Mr. Mustachio should be honored but I imagine they would rather have some oats.

We have been busy preparing for the Urban Lights Event put on by Avenue for the Arts, happening December ninth in the evening.  Division avenue will come alive with lights, vendors, and good friends.  We will keep you posted on all the details as we get closer to the event.
