One year gone

It has been a year since Taylor and I decided to create three.bunnies. It has been a magnificent, difficult ( at times), wonderful, and educational year. And most of all we would like to thank you all. Without the love and support from our friends, family, fans, and avenue for the arts our little idea would have never left the craft box. We have lots of big news to share after the holidays and look forward to another amazing year. Thank you so very much and Happy Holidays!

Urban Lights

If the snowy weather this morning got you in the mood to do some Christmas shopping for others or yourself you're on luck. Urban Lights is going on in Grand Rapids today from 12-8. Several local businesses are participating and local artists will also have spaces in the stores to sell their goods. Please come down and support local and three.bunnies of course!

Jingle Bells are ringing.

I can not even begin to put into words what an excellent experience the Holiday Artist Market has been. We are meeting so many people. We will be here until seven tonight and would love to see you all.

Game on!

We are all set up and the doors are about to open at the UICA. Taylor and I are incredibly excited and a little nervous. But I think our set up is looking pretty swanky.

welcome fall!

It's always nice to spend a chilly Fall day indoors redecorating or for Ryan and I decorating our new house. This is one of our first weekends where we had time to start hanging art and deciding where things should go. As much as I despise winter it will be nice to work on some projects around this place.

fresh look

As you can see, the blog has a fresh look for fall!  Let us know what you think.  In addition, there are a couple new items in the shop.

I've had such a wonderful time creating this series of works on paper.  And since returning from the north, I'm feeling newly inspired--more to come!

back from the north

I'm back!  After an amazing week long trip to the UP, I must say it's a little strange to be indoors again.   We had amazing weather and I saw everything my little heart desired.  However, it's officially back to teaching tomorrow--goodbye summer, you were wonderful.

as the crow flies

While I am finishing up the new jewelry for fall, I thought I would quickly post a few images of some other new work in the shop.   There have been a lot of crows in the neighborhood lately, so I've been feeling particularly inspired by them.
This week has been pretty crazy--both Erica and I have a lot of irons in the fire currently, and I think we are both looking forward to a nice peaceful fall.  HOWEVER!  This next week I will be on vacation in the up up north, so if it can wait to get chilly until I get back that would be lovely.  Happy August, all--cherish these last few weeks of summer!

what's in store

Summer flies by so quickly, I would like to take the time to pause and say thank you to everyone who has helped make it amazing.  This fall will be jam-packed, though--hooray for events and friends and art!

For example, coming up in September Erica and I will be participating in A Lot of Art, an ArtPrize kick-off celebration presented by San Chez Bistro on September 16.  The following weekend we will be vending at "art♥shop: presented by the Avenue for the Arts", a three day celebration that will bring together local artists and the surrounding community for a market-style event focused on the joy of things made by hand. On Friday, September 21, from 4-10 pm, Saturday, September 22 from 10 am-10 pm, and Sunday, September 23 from 12 pm-6 pm,  art♥shop will feature assortment of artists displaying locally crafted artwork, sharing performances and honoring the Avenue.  I will be updating the blog with more details as we get closer to these events, but please feel free to drop us an email at threebunnies@gmail.com if you would like to be on our mailing list.

To help tide you over until these events, check out the shop update and see Erica's new headbands!  I will be updating with some new jewelry as well later this week, so stay tuned.

Meatless Monday

I have found a new love: hummus+pasta.  If you haven't tried this concoction you're in for a treat. I picked up some spicy tomato feta hummus at a specialty store for the sole reason that the cashier told me she likes to mix it in to pasta. She had me at pasta.

This simple meal was just pasta, olive oil, spinach, hummus, and salt and pepper.  Super quick but very gourmet.  Since I don't know if I will be able to get my hands on this luxurious hummus I think a good substitute would be a garlic hummus with diced tomatoes and red pepper flakes or sriracha and feta (omit for a nice vegan treat).

Cheers to new dinners in the rotation!

summer time

This summer seems to be just flying by.  Luckily, I spent this past weekend slowing down a bit--first at the opening of my solo show at the Newaygo County Council for the Arts in Fremont, Michigan.  I had an incredible time at the reception, meeting new friends and getting reacquainted with my own Fremont roots.  The gallery staff is incredible, and if you happen to be in Fremont this summer make sure to stop in and check out the over 40 artists that are represented in their gallery (in addition to my show, which will be up through the end of July).

The rest of this weekend has been spent prepping paper for new drawings and updating our etsy shop with some new work.  And as soon as I finish typing up this entry, we're headed to Blandford Nature Center for a nice relaxing little hike!  Hooray for summer, I am so thankful for these long hot days.

market day!

The Market was an absolute success.  We had a fantastic time hanging out, chatting with other vendors, and of course selling some of our goods.  We also purchased a couple things as well--both Erica and I went home with a hula hoop (to be continued).  Thank you to everyone who came out to support both Three.Bunnies and the Avenue for the Arts--we are so grateful!

There are also a few new items in the shop, and we will be updating frequently over the next month since our next official market isn't until later in the summer.

Cheers!
